SPRINGFIELD, VA, June 20, 2017 – PD Systems, Inc., a privately held Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, announced today that it received a contract valued at approximately $299K to develop a Tactical Prime Power Transformer (TPPT) for the United States Army.
The Tactical Prime Power Transformer (TPPT) is a 500KVA transformer module designed to be stand-alone or permanently installed within a Type 2 Tricon container. The TPPT may be used to step-down 4,160VAC or step-up 208VAC depending on the required functionality.
The TPPT allows the U.S. Army to meet power distribution requirements where there are only low voltage generators (TQG, AMMPS, LAMPS) and power is required to be transmitted longer distances. The TPPT may also be used to step down voltages from medium voltage sources (DPGDS and BEAR) for low voltage distribution. The 1600A low voltage side allows a TPPT to power multiple large capacity loads.
