SPRINGFIELD, VA, June 20, 2017 – PD Systems, Inc., a privately held Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, announced today that it received a contract valued at approximately $248K to develop an improved Secondary Distribution Center (iSDC) for the U.S. Army.
The Improved Secondary Distribution Center (iSDC) is a transportable skid-mounted, medium voltage transformer with a low voltage distribution center. The iSDC uses a 150KVA transformer to power 120/208VAC loads from a 4,160VAC or 13,800VAC power source.
The iSDC improves on the capability of the current SDC design by adding the ability to power the primary source from either a 4,160VAC or 13,800VAC source. The added primary voltage capability enhances the functionality of the iSDC; providing the unit with additional capability of typical medium voltage power sources.
Mr. Mazen Badr, Vice President and General Manager of PD Systems’ Power Solutions Division will lead this program. He said, “The iSDC will allow the U.S. Army to increase its power distribution support capabilities worldwide while maintaining a familiar interface for the operators.”
Mr. Greg Gibbons, President and COO of PD Systems added, “We are pleased for the opportunity to support the US military. PD Systems’ vast expertise and experience in delivering quality military power solutions will ensure this program provides a modernized, reliable power generation and distribution system. We will work closely with the Project Manager Office for Expeditionary Energy and Sustainment Systems to ensure program success.”
