SPRINGFIELD, VA, May 22, 2017 – PD Systems, Inc., a privately held Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, announced today that it received a contract valued at approximately $100M for the recapitalization of the Deployable Power Generation and Distribution System (DPGDS). This contract is a single award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract with hybrid combination Fixed Price Incentive Firm Target (FPIFT) and Firm Fixed Price (FFP) type CLINs.
The MEP-PU-810 DPGDS Prime Power Unit (PPU) is a wheel-mounted, dual diesel engine driven, prime power (Type II), utility Class 2A, Mode I unit that produces 840 kilowatts (kW), 4160 volts at 60 Hertz (Hz) and 700 kW, 3800 volts at 50 Hz.
The original USAF version, the MEP-PU-810A, was a new family of air transportable bare base electric power generation and distribution system to support the U.S. Air Force’s (USAF) Harvest Falcon and Harvest Eagle expeditionary mission sets. It is in a towed trailer configuration that is capable of being air transported by a C-130 aircraft. After recapitalization, the Air Force model will be the MEP-PU-810C. The U.S. Army version, the MEP-PU-810B, was designed to be more maneuverable in support of ground elements. It was designed with a 5th wheel configuration approved by the Department of Transportation (DOT) for over the road use at 55 miles per hour (MPH). Upon Recapitalization the Army model will be the MEP-PU-810D.
Mr. Mazen Badr, Vice President and General Manager of PD Systems’ Power Solution Division will lead this program.
