ALEXANDRIA, VA, February 20, 2014 – PD Systems, Inc., a privately held Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, announced today that support for a comprehensive visual, thermal and I2 evaluation of candidate nets, part of the development of a two-sided Ultra Lightweight Camouflage Net System (ULCANS), has been completed.
For the effort, PDS collected visual data and night vision data from the candidate nets at DoD test facilities representing tactically relevant woodland and desert backgrounds, supported the thermal data collection at these sites, conducted photo-simulation evaluation and analysis, and contributed to the final test report.
PDS has been the support contractor for two-sided camouflage testing for the Communications Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (CERDEC NVESD), the US Army Product Manager- Force Sustainment System (PM-FSS) / Product Manager Shelter Systems for Multispectral Camouflage/ULCANS, and the US Marine Corps since the inception of the program, having supported the Foreign Comparative Test and the ULCANS 2 Test, as well as numerous ULCANS improvement and enhancement testing.
