FT. LEE, VA, July 19, 2017 – COL Greg Gibbons, U.S. Army (Retired), currently President and COO of PD Systems, Inc., was inducted into the U.S. Army Quartermaster Hall of Fame at Ft. Lee, Virginia, on July 11, 2017, during the annual Quartermaster Regimental Honors celebration.
The U.S. Army Quartermaster Hall of Fame award honors individuals judged to have made the most significant contributions to the overall history and traditions of the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps.
The U.S Army Quartermaster Hall of Fame’s selection criteria requires “professional accomplishments deemed so significant, that they stand above those of one’s peers. “
As announced by the DLA Energy Public Affairs office, “COL Gibbons was selected for the Hall of Fame in recognition of his distinguished career and critical combat support as Commander of Defense Fuel Region – Middle East Region. As the Middle East Region Commander, COL Gibbons was the DoD ‘tip of the spear,’ responsible for the successful sustainment of all U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) forces with critical combat fuel supporting Operation DESERT SHIELD / DESERT STORM. As Director of the Petroleum and Water Department, he led and optimized all technical training for over 6,500 U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps petroleum students per year at the U.S. Army Quartermaster School. Later he led cost-efficient technical sustainment training of all U.S. Army fuel handlers (92F) on the Inland Petroleum Distribution System (IPDS) utilizing the U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) Petroleum Training Module (FPTM). As a result of his personal experience during DESERT STORM, COL Gibbons was selected as the first commander of the 49th Quartermaster Group (Petroleum), the only Army POL Group on active duty. COL Gibbons’ final assignment was Chief of the U.S. Army Energy Office, Headquarters, Department of the Army, Pentagon, responsible for establishing global fuel policy for the Army.”
Mr. Martin Ried, Executive Vice President of PD Systems commented, “PD Systems is proud to see COL Gibbons’ accomplishments honored by the U.S. Army Quartermaster Hall of Fame. This is a shining example of the caliber of leadership and knowledge that PD Systems and our personnel bring to the government contracting industry.”
